This stone presents a lab study on the influence of coarse aggregate on the pavement performance of road cement concrete. The result shows that influence degree of every technological property of coarse aggregate affect road concrete differently. The lithology of coarse aggregate will not lead to the obvious fluctuation of the pavement performance of road concrete. The flexural tensile strength of broken pebble stone road concrete is 40% lower than that of crushed stone concrete. The nominal maximum aggregate size of coarse aggregate has significant effect on the pavement performance, and it should be no more than 26.5mm when it's used on high level road. The decreasing amplitude of flake content to the pavement performance of road concrete is bigger than that of needle content. The crashing value of coarse aggregate has very significant effect on the flexural tensile strength of road concrete, so its content should be controlled.

Aggregates are a component of composite materials such as concrete and asphalt concrete; the aggregate serves as reinforcement to add strength to the overall composite material.

 

The advent of modern blasting methods enabled the development of quarries, which are now used throughout the world, wherever competent bedrock deposits of aggregate quality exist. In many places, good limestone, granite, marble or other quality stone bedrock deposits do not exist. In these areas, natural sand and gravel are mined for use as aggregate.This can be seen, the coarse aggregate on roads construction is entirely feasible.
